Alan is insane
And does Chrissy not realize with Katrina gone that she is the next one in line to go

~*Chrissy was so stupid to not use the idol. She had one chance and had she used it she would have kept her one ally in the game and WTF with that vote? Stupid!! I did think it was a good premiere and I think we have an interesting group of players!

I was confused that Chrissy didn't use the idol too. Ben maybe talked Alan down and pulled Chrissy in? Maybe with Alan's insanity and the threat posed by the power couple, Chrissy feels she's not necessarily the only one on the chopping block?

Weird editing. Chrissy voted Katrina out, so I guess she wasn't as close to her as was shown. Or someone made Chrissy feel she was part of an alliance that doesn't include Katrina. Either way, preview shows Chrissy might still recover from losing an 'ally'. Ben + Chrissy seems like a good solid team up. I like Ben and a lot of other players so far. I don't like the Archie Andrews lookalike.

~*Yeah, I feel like there might have been stuff missing in the editing as well. From the way Chrissy was talking about how she HAD felt like she ws not part of the group they could have come to her made her feel safe if she voted their way. I am not a fan of Archie lite either.

The first thing I thought was Chrissy didn't save her because she was afraid she would be the first target next time. But I don't know. With these reality shows, whenever I think somebody made a stupid decision or move, they usually make it to the final two or three!

Uh oh Dunno if I want to see Chrissy going into final 2 or 3. 😬
Any stand out players and duds so far? How does everyone feel about Alan and the probation officer?

Alan and Joe are playing a bit hard so early in the game. I don't see any reason to intimidate people on the first day. You're narrowing your pool of allies before you even know which way the game is going.
I guess, if the group decided Katrina was going, Chrissy's best choice was maybe to go along with them. If she saved Katrina she would have upset people she will need. If she goes with the group she has at least three days to make new alliances, and the preview shows she is going to try that with Ben, so she has a game plan.
I thought Ryan was pretty strong, I like the Ryan/Devon combo, thats a good alliance. Ben is in the position of being the guy everyone comes to, so he's doing well too.

In her exit interviews, Kristina said that she and Chrissy were never close. She said that Chrissy seemed to dislike her right away and saw her as competition for the "older lady" spot and that Chrissy targeted Kristina right away. That acutally seems like a way more interesting story than the one we saw, so I dunno why they didn't show it.
Also, after listening to some exit interviews, it's pretty obvious why thye didn't show Kristina hardly at all in the first epi (and she was the unanimous first boot). It takes about 90 seconds to viscerally hate this woman. She interrupted the interviewers, raised her voice to shout them down, talked at a really fast speed, and every other sentence was New Age religious crap about the universe and destiny and cosmic energy. I would have tossed her off the boat before we even got to the beach.

~*Thanks Braincake for the info on the exit interview! You are right, Chrissy disliking Katrina right away would have made a more interesting story line. I guess they wanted to keep us in "suspense". She does sound annoying. I guess everyone was just happy to see her gone. Maybe the editors chose to not show what really went on because they didn't want to bother with someone that went home first.

Hmm, yes, very interesting. Makes a lot of sense. The editors like to simplify things to make them understandable and lumping the two older women together I guess did that even though it wasn't specifically true. But yes, I agree, Synn, that they're probably not really concerned about exploring the truth about the first boot as opposed to spending time setting up stories that will sustain later episodes.

For some reason I just in no way cared about this episode

The stakes aren't too high yet with quite a few players that the editors are too bored with to create a story around. I'm sure it will get more interesting once a few more boring people get cut

Patrick grew on me, glad he stayed over Simone. Ali and Ben are my current favorites.
What were both Cole and Joe thinking oversharing with each other. I hope its their turn to tribal next week, I don't know any of the ladies there.

I would like to learn a little more about the Healers too. I feel like Roark could actually have some game to play though admittedly I don't have a lot to base that on. I like Ryan and Ali the most so far. I like Ben too, and think he will go far but I think his game so far is based on being in a bit of a lucky position. He's strong and easy to get along with so everyone talks to him.

~*I am not a Patrick fan but I do like Ali a lot. I didn't think I would like her but she seems to be a good player. Chrissy on the other hand still annoys me and man does she think a lot of herself. She just seems to think she is so brilliant. yuck!!

She does think she's something ! Granted she has put herself in a better spot than she was in, but she'll have to do more than that to make me forget Sandra Diaz-Twine

Some seasons people come out with guns ablazing to take out the 'threats'; some seasons they start by getting rid of the chaff. This season seems to be the latter. That bodes well for an interesting endgame. These first two boots (can't even remember their names) should never have been on the show.
Chrissy and Joe both seem to have egos that don't match their abilities. It will be fun to see them fall.
Still liking Ben, Mike, Ryan and Devon.

Archie took it pretty hard. I did feel like Lauren was going. She's in a tough spot, She's 10 years older than anyone else on her tribe, its not easy for her to fit in.

~*Archie was a jerk and was begging to be sent home his departure made me happy! Yeah, Lauren is older but she just needs to be around for a bit longer and bond some. She is not annoying as of yet!

I thought for a second security was going to have to come in at tribal council

Would have made for a dramatic moment for Patrick to be frog marched from tribal council by a couple of beefy CBS goons.
