~*Jay*~I am anxious to hear your thoughts on the Comey book!
I am 42 books in so far this year. At the moment I am reading the third book in the fairy tale retelling series. This one is called "Twisted" and this one is about Belle from Beauty and the Beast.

The Comey book was sooo good. Comey seems to be an intelligent, articulate, honest, decent man. I hope he gets back into public service.

~*I am now a Netgalley reader!!! I am currently reading The Dark Beneath the Ice and am enjoying it. It was described as Black Swan meets Paranormal Activity and this totally fits! I love the fact that I can get books before they are released.

I gave up on Jake Tapper's book, it's sooooo slow and dull.
I'm now reading Rick Campbell's The Trident Deception; it's a fun read. Anyone who loves thrillers will enjoy this book.

~*I finished "The Dark Beneath The Ice" and I really enjoyed it as well as "Scream Site". I liked the first book much more than the second book. I am now reading "Little Sister" by Isabel Ashdown and it is really good so far. I love a good British psychological thriller and so far this is perfect.
~*Jay*~It always sucks when you just can't bring yourself to not finish a book. I actually make myself feel guilty doing that for some reason. Maybe because I am a weirdo??

Synn, I don't give up on an uninteresting book right away. I desperately tried to like Tolstoy's Anna Karenina; I read 400+ (!!!) pages before bailing out. If I give up on a book, there are 120 books on my Kobo waiting for me.

~*I belong to this book club and the book for this week and last week is "Endless Night" by Richard Layman. It was a horror thriller which I normally like but I hate the parts that were from the killers POV. I had to give it only 3 stars because I hated half the book and the end. To be honest I more than likely would never have even given it even three stars if it were not a book club run by my favorite Booktuber who also set up the reading schedule. I am also reading an ARC called #Fashion Victim and it's really good!
~*Jay*~Yep! The classic can bore the hell out of you sometimes. I know that I finished War and Peace but my memory of it is soooo weak. I swear I fell asleep four times while trying to read it. I would make a Charlie Brown reference but I know there are not Charlie Brown stans that love him as much as me and may not know what I am talking about!!!

I was pleasantly surprised with "The President is Missing". I enjoyed it; the writing isn't great but the book moves along quickly.
I am now reading "A Moveable Feast" edited by Don George.

~*I just finished "Someone I Used to Know" by Patty Blount.
TRIGGER WARNING: Boys will be boys is never an excuse.
It’s been two years since the night that changed Ashley’s life. Two years since she was raped by her brother’s teammate. And a year since she sat in a court and watched as he was given a slap-on-the-wrist sentence. But the years have done nothing to stop the pain or lessen the crippling panic attacks that make her feel like she’s living a half-life.
It’s been two years of hell for Derek. His family is totally messed up and he and his sister are barely speaking. He knows she partially blames him for what happened, and totally blames him for how he handled the aftermath. Now at college, he has to come to terms with what happened, and the rape culture that he was inadvertently a part of that destroyed his sister’s life.
When it all comes to a head at Thanksgiving, Derek and Ashley have to decide if their relationship is able to be saved. And if their family can ever be whole again.
I am now reading "Our House" by Louise Candlish
On a bright January morning in the London suburbs, a family moves into the house they’ve just bought in Trinity Avenue.
Nothing strange about that. Except it is your house. And you didn’t sell it.
When Fiona Lawson comes home to find strangers moving into her house, she's sure there's been a mistake. She and her estranged husband, Bram, have a modern co-parenting arrangement: bird's nest custody, where each parent spends a few nights a week with their two sons at the prized family home to maintain stability for their children. But the system built to protect their family ends up putting them in terrible jeopardy. In a domino effect of crimes and misdemeanors, the nest comes tumbling down.
Now Bram has disappeared and so have Fiona's children. As events spiral well beyond her control, Fiona will discover just how many lies her husband was weaving and how little they truly knew each other. But Bram's not the only one with things to hide, and some secrets are best kept to oneself, safe as houses.
