~*I am reading "A Steep Price " by Robert Dugoni. I believe it is the 6th book in the Tracy Crosswhite series. I love this series so much!
(Called in to consult after a young woman disappears, Tracy Crosswhite has the uneasy feeling that this is no ordinary missing-persons case. When the body turns up in an abandoned well, Tracy’s suspicions are confirmed. Estranged from her family, the victim had balked at an arranged marriage and had planned to attend graduate school. But someone cut her dreams short.
Solving the mystery behind the murder isn’t Tracy’s only challenge. The detective is keeping a secret of her own: she’s pregnant. And now her biggest fear seems to be coming true when a new detective arrives to replace her. Meanwhile, Tracy’s colleague Vic Fazzio is about to take a fall after his investigation into the murder of a local community activist turns violent and leaves an invaluable witness dead.
Two careers are on the line. And when more deadly secrets emerge, jobs might not be the only things at risk.)

I finally finished "The Book of M". The first half of the book was interesting but man, I struggled to continue with the second half. The story became increasingly weird plus I didn't like the author's writing style.
I'm back to "A Moveable Feast" by Don George. I had set it aside to read "The Book of M". "Feast" is way more enjoyable to read.

~*Sometimes you just need to set aside a book. I am reading another ARC. This one is called "What They Don't Know" by Nicole Maggi.
Three secrets. One decision. A friendship that will change everything.
Mellie has always been the reliable friend, the good student, the doting daughter. But when an unspeakable act leads her to withdraw from everyone she loves, she is faced with a life-altering choice—a choice she must face alone.
Lise stands up—and speaks out—for what she believes in. And when she notices Mellie acting strangely, she gets caught up in trying to save her…all while trying to protect her own secret. One that might be the key to helping Mellie.
Told through Mellie and Lise’s journal entries, this powerful, emotional novel chronicles Mellie’s struggle to decide what is right for her and the unbreakable bond formed by the two girls on their journey.

Synn, it's interesting yet frustrating at the same time. I find Woodward's style of writing much better than Michael Wolff's "Fire and Fury".

I find Woodward's style of writing much better than Michael Wolff's "Fire and Fury". ~*Yeah, I just can't bring myself to read anything about him because it is bad enough to live through it! I just watched part of his press conference and it is so depressing.

I am currently reading Celeste Ng's "Everything I Never Told You".
From Amazon.ca: “Lydia is dead. But they don’t know this yet.” So begins this exquisite novel about a Chinese American family living in 1970s small-town Ohio. Lydia is the favorite child of Marilyn and James Lee, and her parents are determined that she will fulfill the dreams they were unable to pursue. But when Lydia’s body is found in the local lake, the delicate balancing act that has been keeping the Lee family together is destroyed, tumbling them into chaos. A profoundly moving story of family, secrets, and longing, Everything I Never Told You is both a gripping page-turner and a sensitive family portrait, uncovering the ways in which mothers and daughters, fathers and sons, and husbands and wives struggle, all their lives, to understand one another.

~*I have to say that though I enjoyed "Everything I Never Told You" I was a little disappointed. I think it was hyped up a little bit too much for me.
I just finished "Daisy Jones & The Six" by Taylor Jenkins Reid and that was as good as "The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo". I am now reading "Saving Meghan" by D.J. Palmer and the audio book I am listening to right now is "Jane Doe" by Victoria Helen Stone. Both books are very good.

Synn, I am about 50 pages from the end of "Everything I Never Told You". I am finding the book to be a bit too drawn out; the sooner I finish, the better.

Im impresses that you stick with books you arent loving, Jay. I'm reading The Beastie Book, which is more or less the history and memoir of the Beastie Boys. It's not really difficult reading, but its a really fat book, so I will be at it a while. Its fun, it takes you back to the time they were starting out

~*I am reading the audio version "The Muse of Nightmares" by Lani Taylor. It is the sequel "Strange the Dreamer" and I loved that so I had to pick up the sequel. This is a great series. I am also reading a e-book copy of "The Last Thing She Remembers" by J.S. Monroe. It is an ARC and i am really enjoying it.
