Is This Technically Torture?
Greetings My Loyal Minions, Maxx Fisher Here
On this, the anniversary of the founding of our great nation, I am watching and writing about Big Brother. What has happened to my life? But that is neither here nor there. There is a lot that is great about America, there are also some not great things...like a deranged tangerine running this country. One of the best things about America is that we don't condone torture. Most of the time. As long there is a Jack Bauer situation where you have no choice. But the Big Brother house exists in this strange, quasy foreign soil/embassy sort of status. No holds are barred in the Big Brother house, but more on that later.
Tyler is worried about the special power someone has. He's worried that his HOH is going to be derailed. Sam does a great job after the nomination ceremony of pretending that she didn't get it. But later in the HOH room she tells Tyler that she won it and that she isn't going anywhere. She doesn't tell him how long it's good for though. And to give Tyler credit, he has not told anyone about Sam's power. I noticed that in this episode Sam said over and over that she has the CHANCE to come back into the house if she's evicted. She emphasized this over and over. I think this happened because in the previous episode it was not clear that she only had a chance of coming back and that it wasn't a done deal. I feel betrayed.
You know who else is feeling betrayed? Bayleigh. Chris and Bayliegh have a showmance going now. By showmance, I mean that they are screwing. Love is grand. Tyler tells Chris that if someone comes down he wants to put up Bayleigh because he believes that she will stay in the house unanimously. Chris tries to point him in Angela's direction, but Tyler brings up the special power and that she probably has it. He mentions it several times in this episode. This is an example of the house having no idea what the outside world thinks of him.
Chris tells Bayleigh about the plan for her to go up and she is not happy. He then asks her if they should maybe detach from each other to save their games. Translation: Now that I've banged you, I'm worried that you will go home and that stink will somehow get on me so later sweetie. She is not happy, Chris is surprisingly smart enough to realize he might have made a mistake and tries to do damage control. Doesn't really work. Bayleigh tries to plead her case but that also doesn't work. If someone comes down she is going up.
The first instance of torture tonight is on Faysal. He got the crap app and he has to eat fake ham every time he receives a Hamazon Delivery. It looks vile. It apparently smells vile. He has to eat all of it and it's a lot. Right after, I mean right after the first delivery he gets a second. To add to the torture, he vomits almost every time he eats it. Who knew artificial ham could sicken someone.
It's time for the Veto. It's Tyler, Sam, Steve, Scottie, Chris and Faysal. Steve thinks Faysal will save him if he wins. Scottie is in an alliance with Steve. Bayleigh knows that Chris will keep her safe by not changing the noms. Tyler has no intentions of changing anything. The only chance Sam is herself.
The Veto is a 5 part challenge, the last person in each leg of the challenge is out, last one standing wins. The entire challenge is torture. First they have to root around a container of snakes to find things (Chris didn't even try). Then they have to jump into an ice bath (once again Chris doesn't even try). Then they get shot by paintballs, you can see a welt on Tyler's chest in the Diary Room. Then they are shocked. Shocked. With electricity. This is a game show!!!! Finally they have to taste ass flavored soda. The order of failure goes like this: Scottie, Chris, Steve, Sam, Tyler. Faysal wins. Long story short, he doesn't use the Veto on anyone. Although Big Brother does send him a Hamazon Delivery during the Veto Ceremony, but they were kind enough to just give him one piece.
I leave you with this My waterboarded Game Show Contestants, was this episode against Geneva convention? Could the producers be charged with human rights atrocities, at least more they before? Am I crazy or was Chris actually saying "I" a few times rather than referring to himself in the third person? It seems impossible, but I'm pretty sure that happened. Who knows, maybe torture does work.
