Sam's Not Calling You Sluts, But...
Greetings My Loyal Minions, Maxx Fisher Here
I’m a straight white male. So that means no one really wants my opinion on social issues in the world. Something to do with women? Keep my mouth shut. Issues with someone from the LGBTQ community? Zip it man. People of color? No chance anyone wants my opinion. But sometimes you see something and you just feel like you need to say something. My first instinct is to push that feeling deep down. But then I feel like I have no choice. But again, push those feelings down. Then I remember that this is the internet and no one knows who I am, so I can say whatever I want, but more on that later.
The episode begins with the aftermath of Sam’s nomination of Kaitlyn and Haleigh. More to the point it is the aftermath of what Sam said when she nominated them. To be blunt, she basically called the two them sluts that were throwing themselves at the men in the house in the name of playing the game. That might be a harsh way of saying it, but that was the gist of things. She said that they had no respect for the men in the house or respect for themselves. Haliegh and Kaitlyn understandably did not take this well. They were in tears at different points in different areas of the house. When the ladies tried to apologize to the house if they had ever been disrespectful to anyone Sam shut that down. She said actions spoke louder than words.
Speaking about actions, a little later in the episode Sam was up in her HOH with Faysal when he did exactly what she accused K & H of doing. He flattered her and then hugged her and draped his body over hers. She thought that and he were both delightful. There didn’t seem to be anything wrong with those actions at that moment. It didn’t seem though like anyone was happy about the things that Sam said at the nominations. It was what I would call very uncomfortable after the meeting. It seemed that the only one that didn’t have a problem with it was Sam herself. Although if her were still in the house I would bet that Winston would have no problem with it.
Sam did tell Kaitlyn and Haleigh that they should use this to motive themselves to win the Veto. Well that was pointless because Kaitlyn informed all of us that she was GOING to win the Veto. Much like Brett & Winston from last week, this was a forgone conclusion. But just in case she and Faysal had a discussion and he agreed to use the Veto to save her if he was picked and won it. Interesting side note, he agreed to do the same thing for Haleigh. And wouldn’t you know it, he was picked to play in the Veto. And wouldn’t you, wouldn’t you know it (see what I did there?) he won the Veto. A Veto hosted by BB13 Winner Rachel. A Veto that saw Scottie almost die laughing from watching JC get hit in the balls almost non stop. This seemed to be Faysal challenge because he didn’t get a single thing wrong. In the DR talking head they played during the challenge, Kaitlyn told us she was throwing the challenge so Faysal could win and use it on her while keeping himself safe.
But here’s the thing, it’s always easy to say you threw the challenge when you’ve already lost it. But let’s say that she did throw it, that was a mistake, because Faysal decided to use it to save Haleigh. When they were talking about him using it to save Kaitlyn Faysal was hemming and hawing and he couldn’t look her in the eyes. That would have told anyone that he was not keeping their promise. But for some reason it was the spirits and her intuition that told Kaitlyn she was going to be betrayed, not the eyes in her head that could see the way he was acting.
Time for the Veto ceremony. Faysal, as he said he would, at least to one person, he uses the Veto to save Haleigh. Sam starts to say that she is putting up her best friend (really?) and JC starts to practically hyperventilate and objects so Sam pulls an audible and she switches it to Angie. That really hurts her because her daughter’s birthday was last week and how could Sam put her up the same week that her daughter has a birthday?
I leave you with this my uncalled for judgements, was Sam too harsh? I think so. At least I think she was being to harsh to one of the people she put up, I leave it to you to figure out which one I mean. What’s with the challenge creators not adjusting JC platform just a little bit more to protect his boys. I mean he gets on my nerves but no one wants to see groin torture. And has Sam’s HOH tenure been a breath of fresh air or a giant, disjointed nightmare? You tell me, I should probably not say too much about it
